All eyes will be on the KL High Court today, when Datuk Seri Najib Razak learns whether he will be acquitted of charges against him in relation to RM42 million belonging to SRC International.
The High Court will deliver a historic decision at 10am, whereby a guilty verdict may result in a 20-year jail sentence for the former prime minister.
In the SRC case, the Pekan MP faces 7 charges for abuse of power, criminal breach of trust charges and money-laundering charges.
As a security measure, the KL court complex will close its gates to all except those slated to appear before the court.
Drivers who refuse to undergo alcohol content tests without valid reasons will face a mandatory jail sentence and fine under amendments to the Road Transport Act.
The Transport Minister says first-time offenders will face a maximum 2 years’ sentence and be fined up to 30 thousand while losing their driver’s licence for a minimum of two years.
On another issue, the Minister says parents will have to bear the punishment over their children's involvement in modified bicycles activities.
They could be fined between RM1,000 and RM5,000 and sentenced to jail for not more than 1 year.
