Health DG: Face shields are not as effective as masks
Aug 11, 2020
Face shields are not clinically proven to stop the spread of Covid-19 unlike face masks.
But, the Health Ministry says using a face shield is better than not having any face covering at all.
Meanwhile, the Ministry advised Malaysians to wear 3-ply face masks as they provide the most effective protection against Covid-19.
This comes as we recorded 11 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing our overall tally to 9,094, with 166 active cases.
Police have arrested 28 hikers at Broga Hill in Semenyih over the weekend for breaching the Recovery Movement Control Order's SOPs.

Police warned that Broga Hill remains closed even though hiking has been allowed since June 15.
A restaurant in Kedah which was identified as the source of the Sivagangga Covid-19 cluster was ordered close and has since been sealed.
