It Will Take Time To Raise RMCO Compound

The proposal to raise the current compound for breaching RMCO SOPS cannot happen overnight.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says it will take time to happen, as the govt needs to amend two acts of parliament first.

Last week, PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said that the govt plans to double or triple the compound issued to those who fall foul of the rules.

On another note, Datuk Seri Ismail says the govt has no plans to impose a curfew throughout Kedah, to combat the spread of COVID-19.

This, despite the recent emergence of new clusters in the state.

The Kedah govt recently proposed to expand the administrative enhanced movement control order in the state, but Datuk Seri Ismail says it wouldn't be fair to those in areas that are NOT impacted by the coronavirus.
