447 to contest in Sabah polls

447 candidates have been confirmed for the 73 seats up for grabs in the Sabah state election later this month.
There will be multi-cornered fights all around with the Election Commission confirming an 11-cornered contest in Bengkoka, a 10-way contest in Inanam, as well as three other nine-man contests.
The EC adds that men dominated the field after yesterday's nomination day, with only 43 women contesting.
Overall, the youngest candidate to contest is 22 years old, while the oldest is 75.
The Sabah state election will take place on the 26th.
MOH mulling post-election quaratine
The Health Minister says the relevant agencies will discuss the possibility of imposing a quarantine for those who return to their respective states after voting in the Sabah election.

It follows a spike in Covid-19 cases in Sabah recently.
Separately, the number of new Covid-19 cases is back down to double-digits again.
58 infections were reported nationwide yesterday - the bulk of which were reported in Sabah.
Meanwhile a new cluster - known as Kluster Laut - has been detected among undocumented migrants in Kunak, Sabah.
Midnight closure remains for KL businesses
KL City Hall has decided to maintain the midnight closing time for all businesses in the city amid the Recovery MCO.
This is despite the Defence Minister recently announcing that eateries and convenience stores would be allowed to operate until 2am.

DBKL adds that its monitoring has found that the level of compliance to SOP's during the Recovery MCO still needs to be improved.
