Malaysia's COVID-19 death toll rises to 129

Malaysia reported 95 new COVID-19 cases today.
Of the new cases 76 are from the Benteng Cluster in Sabah.
The death toll has risen to 129, after one patient in Sabah succumbed to the coronavirus.
Sabah to boost efforts against COVID-19
The Sabah government has assured that the state's COVID-19 outbreak will not jeopardise the upcoming state election.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal says the state is committed to boost efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
This, after the Health Ministry confirmed the emergence of a new cluster in Semporna called the Selamat Cluster.
It's the fourth cluster reported in Sabah this month, after the Benteng, Pulau and Laut clusters.
MTUC urge government to protect low income worker livelihood amid COVID-19 pandemic
The government has been urged to protect the livelihood of workers, as many are from the low income group and have been hard hit due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Malaysian Trade and Union Congress says among others, the government should introduce rules banning employers from retrenching workers, until the economy recovers.
This, after a recent report said that this year's average monthly salary and wage will be affected due to the impact of the coronavirus.
