Still too soon to decide CMCO's fate

Oct 21, 2020

The Health Ministry needs more time to decide if the Conditional MCO enforced in the Klang Valley and Sabah needs to be extended.

It says the Covid-19 infection rate in Selangor for example, has been reduced since the implementation of the CMCO, but it's still not good enough.

It has now been a week since the CMCO was implemented in Selangor, KL and Sabah.

Union backs Work From Home order

CUEPACS is in support of the government's directive for employees at management and supervisory levels in areas under the Conditional MCO to work from home starting tomorrow.

It says the announcement is timely considering the recent hike in Covid-19 cases nationwide.

Meanwhile, the congress adds that it will be good if all employees, including those residing in yellow or green zones, minimise movement by working from home as well.

The Malaysian Trades Union Congress, MTUC and the Malaysian Employers Federation, MEF on the other hand are expecting more clarification on the matter.

But, the Senior Minister for Security had earlier assured that the International Trade and Industry Ministry will be issuing the SOPs involved and a more detailed list of work-from-home jobs.
