Schools to close for the rest of the term

The Education Ministry has announced that all public schools will be closed starting tomorrow, until the final day of term on December 17th.
However, online or home based learning will continue until the school term is over.
Meanwhile, the Senior Minister for Education says this year’s SPM exam has been postponed to February 22nd 2021, while the STPM exam will be held on March 8th, 2021.
This, after the government announced that the Conditional MCO will be extended to all states in the peninsular, except for Pahang, Perlis and Kelantan.

The ruling will take effect tomorrow and will last until December 6th.
Kuching, Sarawak has also been put under CMCO for 14 days from tomorrow.
Meanwhile, The Prime Minister says the decision to extend the Conditional MCO to other states could not be avoided, because a stricter and bolder approach needed to be taken to get the spread of Covid-19 under control.
Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says the ban on interstate travel also had to be implemented to reduce public movement and break the chain of infection.
This came as 1,168 new Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, along with three additional fatalities.
PM to consider letting the opposition sit in at key meetings
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is prepared to give members of the opposition a chance to sit in at the weekly Economic Action Council and Covid-19 management meetings.
This is to get feedback and views from all parties on how the government can best serve the people.
Biden wins it
Democrat Joe Biden has won the US presidential election, beating Donald Trump after a drawn-out vote count.

All major US TV networks have declared that Biden won the key battleground state of Pennsylvania, helping him surpass the 270 Electoral College votes needed to take the White House.
His running mate Kamala Harris will also now become the first ever woman vice-president.
Trump, however, is refusing to concede, saying his campaign will begin challenging election results in court.
Trump had earlier made repeated claims of electoral fraud but offered no proof.
