MySejatera app only for COVID-19 contact tracing
Nov 14, 2020
The government's MySejahtera app will only be used for COVID-19 contact tracing purposes.
The Health Director General assured that it will not be used to track down individuals who flee from areas under a control order.
This follows concern that data from the app could be misused by police.
Earlier this week, cops said they would use the app to look for residents from Selangor's Medan 88 Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi who went missing before its Enhanced MCO came into effect earlier this week.

Not necessary to impose stricter cross-border SOPs
There is no need to tighten cross-border travel restrictions for people travelling to work during the Conditional MCO.
The Defence Minister says SOPs are sufficient for now, as a majority of workers affected by the CMCO have been ordered to work from home.
He adds that workers who need to be at their workplace, must first have a travel permit before being allowed to cross borders.

Don’t forget to stay safe this Deepavali
As Deepavali festivities take place nationwide, those celebrating have been urged to follow SOPs, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has reminded those to avoid large gatherings, and to maintain physical distancing measures.
This, as Malaysia's number of new COVID-19 cases returned to four digits yesterday, with 1,304 infections.
