Zero new COVID-19 deaths

No new COVID-19 deaths were reported today, meaning the death toll remains at 376.

Meanwhile, Malaysia reported 1,141 more cases.

Selangor and Sabah recorded the highest tally with 320 infections each, followed by 256 in KL.

The Health Ministry also detected eight new clusters.

Perak MB still state government caretaker until new MB

Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu says he is still the state government’s caretaker, until a new MB is appointed.

This is after Datuk Seri Ahmad lost the vote of confidence in the state assembly today.

Only 10 assemblymen voted their support, while 48 voted against him, and one vote was abstained.

Decision to be known regarding COVID-19 vaccine for Muslims

An announcement is expected to be made next week, regarding the use of the COVID-19 vaccine among Muslims in the country.

The Minister in the PM's Department for Religious Affairs says the matter was discussed with the relevant authorities and will be presented to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Earlier this week, Kelantan urged the government to conduct a study over the vaccine to ensure it complied with Islamic law.
