COVID-19: Agong consents to Gerik, Sibuga emergency

The Yang DiPertuan Agong has given his consent for an emergency to be declared in the Gerik parliamentary constituency in Perak, and Sabah's Bugaya state constituency.
Both areas are due to hold by-elections on January 16th.
PM Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says the emergency declaration will allow for the postponement of the by-elections, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Election Commission says it accepts the decision and will hold off all its ongoing preparations for the elections.

Govt monitoring COVID-19 anti-vaxxers
The government is closely monitoring the activities of a group that is spreading false propaganda about a Covid-19 vaccine.
The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry says it's to prevent them from influencing public perception.
As such, the government may create new laws to curb the influence of such anti-vaxxers.
It's also taking proactive steps to give the public ACCURATE information about the vaccine.
