Flood update

Jan 06, 2017

The situation in Pitas, Sabah has returned to normal, with all remaining flood evacuees in the district allowed to return home.

Meanwhile, just under 13 thousand flood evacuees are still displaced in Pasir Mas, Pasir Puteh and Tumpat, in Kelantan.

And in Terengganu, 1,600 people are still seeking shelter in Dungun, Marang, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu and Kuala Terengganu.
--

Still on the floods, the Defense Ministry says the armed forces will help repair homes that have been damaged by floods.
--

And the Deputy Prime Minister says the federal government has approved an 800 million ringgit allocation, to help find long-term solutions to the flood problem in Kelantan.
