Malaysia has been ranked 35th on the Global Innovation Index 2016 rankings.
The top 5 spots in the survey of 128 countries, with a focus on the creation of intellectual property and innovation, were taken by Switzerland, Sweden, UK, the US and Finland.
Singapore came in at a close 6th, while Yemen came last.
