KASTAM cancels plans to introduce GST for an additional 60 food items.

The Customs Department has cancelled plans to introduce GST for an additional 60 food items, after consulting with the finance ministry.
The move, which was supposed to take effect on July 1st, would have seen the 6% Goods and Services Tax imposed on items including imported fruits, frozen vegetables, potatoes and corn.
