Online scams are still prevalent in Malaysia.

Online scams are still prevalent in Malaysia, with about 1,500 such reports lodged to the govt so far this year.

Most of them involved buyers receiving different items from what they had ordered.

In one case, the buyer had purchased a handphone online, but received a mortar and pestle instead.

As such, authorities have reminded buyers to check the seller's record before buying anything online, and also to compare prices.
