The government has temporarily stopped importing rock melons from Australia.

This, after four people in Australia died from consuming the fruit contaminated with the listeria bacteria.

However, the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry assures the LOCAL rock melons are free from contemination and safe for consumption.

A total of 17 cases have been reported so far, in a nationwide listeria outbreak Down Under.
