GE14 is the most expensive election in the history of Malaysia, with a budget of 500 million ringgit.

Sin Chew reports, this is probably because of an increase in the number of voters, more expensive venue rentals and the purchase of indelible ink, among otheres.

GE14 also sees the longest period between the dissolution of Parliament and Nomination Day, with 21 days in between.
