The PM says the necessary legislation to abolish capital punishment is still being drafted.

Earlier, the PM's Department said that the govt wants to replace the death penalty with a sentence of at least 30 years in prison.

Some 1,200 prisoners are currently on death row.

A study by Khazanah Research Institute found that low income earners are especially hard-hit.

It says in 2016, after deducting household expenses, households earning less than 2,000 ringgit a month may only have 76 ringgit left!

The report says this is worrying, as this makes low-income households very vulnerable to any economic shocks or emergencies.

The British Royal Family has announced that Meghan Markle is pregnant, 5 months after her wedding to Prince Harry.

The baby is due in in the spring next year.
