Suhakam: Govt must do more to prevent child labour

The Human Rights Commission of M'sia, Suhakam, wants the govt to monitor and regulate businesses to prevent child labour.

It was responding to a recent incident, where 18 people, including 7 children, were rescued from forced labour at an oil palm plantation in Hulu Perak.

Suhakam also called on lawmakers to unite to fight human trafficking, as it is a serious criminal offence and a grave violation of human rights.
