BAM wants to reward players in the top 3 of the world rankings

Jan 13, 2017

The Badminton Association of Malaysia, BAM, wants to reward players who finish among the top three in the world rankings.

This, as Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong currently top the men's doubles ranking, following in the footsteps of Datuk Lee Chong Wei, who conquers the singles rankings.

BAM says the main idea for introducing an incentive scheme is to encourage more players to reach the optimum level.

The incentive is not limited to money but can be in the form of an upgraded flight ticket, like what Chong Wei has been enjoying.
