Domestic Violence Act ammendments tabled for first reading in Parliment

Ammendments to the Domestic Violence Act were tabled for first reading in Parliment today. 

Among the provisions include expanding the scope of the law to protect men as well as women, after data from 2015 showed that more than a quarter of domestic violence cases that year involved male victims. 

Another ammendment calls for emtional abuse to also be included in the Act.
