Domestic violence cases on the rise

Domestic violence cases are on the rise in Malaysia. 

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry says there's been a 66 percent increase in such cases between 2012 and last year.

It attributed this partly to greater public awareness about domestic abuse, as more people are willing to come forward and report their cases to the police.
