The Health Ministry will step up monitoring of date products in the local market.
This, after photos of dates contaminated with cockroaches and beetles went viral on social media.
The Ministry also says consumers should study the product label, and make it a habit to inspect any product before consuming them, to avoid eating harmful and contaminated food.
