Married couple sentenced to 15 years jail and fined 28,000 ringgit

A married couple have been sentenced to 15 years jail and fined 28,000 ringgit each by a court in Ipoh, Perak for exploiting children.

The duo who ran a centre for children in Kedah, pleaded guilty to forcing kids between the ages of 11 and 17 to travel to different states to sell items like calenders, oils and herbal medicine.

About 4,700 ringgit and 1 million Indonesian rupiah seized from the couple will be forfeited to the government.
