The Federal Court has ruled that the four individuals who wished to convert out of Islam, cannot do so through the civil courts.

The panel unanimously ruled, that only the syariah court in Sarawak has jurisdiction to hear apostasy cases, and NOT the civil courts.

It is unclear if the 4 applicants will bring the case to the Syariah court.
