Environmental education to be added to teaching syllabus

Schools and universities are expected to have environmental education added to their teaching syllabus by 2019.

A proposal has been drafted, and will be presented to the Cabinet next year, calling for the subject to be introduced right from kindergarten to university.

The subject will help to address issues like environmental pollution and the importance of sustainable development, and to create awareness on the importance of protecting the environment.
