Over 2,000 fake social media accounts blocked or shut down

More than 2 thousand fake social media accounts have been blocked or shut down since January this year.

The Communications and Multimedia Ministry says of the figure, almost 75% have been subject to further action, while the rest are still under investigation, including for spreading inaccurate information.

Its also reminding the public to check on the authenticity of news or articles, before sharing it on social media.
