11 babies saved through baby-hatches

11 babies have been saved through the use of baby-hatches, in the first nine months of the year.

The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry says there's been an increase in the use of these hatches, which are located in eight locations nationwide.

The Ministry has also clarified, that placing babies in these baby-hatches in not a crime, adding that the babies will in fact be offered care and protection by the Welfare Department.
