No plastic bags in Malaysia within a year

New Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin wants to ban plastic bags throughout the country within a year.
However, she admitted to Malaysiakini that the government can only do so when the public really understands the rationale behind the move.
Zuraida believes that awareness levels are still low, despite KL, Putrajaya, Selangor, Melaka and Johor enforcing their own policies on plastic bags.
