Wrap-up: PM says administration is now corruption-free

Oct 22, 2018

PH administration is corruption-free

PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad believes the Pakatan govt has cleaned up corruption in the administration.

In an exclusive interview with Astro Awani, Tun M said even the people can feel the change...

"Kita dapati, syarikat2 sekarang, tidak kata lagi kerajaan ini rasuah. Tak dengar lagi."

The PM said one of the changes made, is they have done away with cronism, so everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed.

"Sekarang ni kita nak bagi peluang kepada semua, yang boleh dan tak boleh... tapi kalau mereka tak berjaya jangalnlah salahkan kerajaan"

Tun M also said it's important to boost M'sia's manufacturing prowess so that we can compete with foreign countries.

It's now all open tenders for DBKL contracts.

From now on, all land deals involving DBKL will be carried out through open tender, compared to direct negotiations in the past.

The Federal Territories Minister said this is to prevent any dubious transactions.

The govt managed to recover almost RM150 million after renegotiating terms on 16 land parcels sold by DBKL during the previous BN administration.

SOCSO for Cabbies

From next Thursday, it'll be compulsory for taxi and e-hailing drivers to contribute towards Socso.

The Human Resources Minister says only 5 percent of M'sia's 100,000 taxi and e-hailing drivers are covered under the scheme.

Those who still refuse to register with Socso might not be able to renew their licences.

Milestone for MAS

Malaysia Airlines has welcomed 3 locals as its first female pilots.
