Police open four IPs under Sedition Act over Subang Jaya temple riots

Police have opened four investigation papers under the Sedition Act, in connection to the temple riots in Subang Jaya.

This, after four police reports were lodged, following the spread of alleged seditious news relating to the incidents on social media.

Police had even re-arrested local blogger Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known as Papagomo, after he was released yesterday.

Selangor police have reminded the public that strict action will be taken against those who attempt to divide the nation with racist statements.

EC hopes for faster election results

The Election Commission hopes to announce election results much faster in the future.

Chairman Azhar Harun says the commission will first have to go through complete reformation and will also introduce new initiatives.

However, he says the current system will still be improved, in preparation for the next general election.

No government investment in third national car project

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng says the government has not made any decision to invest in the third national car project.

He adds the project requires a huge capital outlay, and as such, it will need help from the private sector.

However, Guan Eng says the government has no problem in providing allocation to carry out research and development.
