IGP warns strict action against senior cops found collecting Raya funds

The IGP has banned the police force from soliciting funds for Raya celebrations, especially Open Houses. 

Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador said any senior officers caught collecting money for this purpose or asking their subordinates to do so will be tranferred immediately. 

The top cop added, asking for donations among the staff or chanelling some from club funds is fine, but they're not allowed to ask outsiders or companies for money to hold these celebrations.

Apandi Ali to be probed?

MalaysiaKini says the IGP has assured a police report lodged against former Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Apandi Ali will be investigated. 

This comes after DAP lawmaker Lim Lip Eng lodged a report at the Dang Wangi police station on Monday, saying Apandi should be investigated for allegedly covering up the 1MDB scandal under the previous Barisan Nasional government.

Adib inquest still on schedule

The government has assured that the inquest into firefighter Mohd Adib's death is still ongoing, despite the lack of a lawyer to represent the Housing and Local Government Ministry. 

Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin assured a new lawyer will be picked before the inquest continues in three weeks' time.
