Menstrual cups are as reliable as tampons

Reusable menstrual cups are as safe and effective for women as sanitary pads and tampons.

A study found that there is no increased risk of infection associated with using the cups, which can last as long as a decade.  

It discovered that the greatest barrier to women using the cups is lack of familiarity.

But the research found that women who use the menstrual cups spend less money in the long-term and experience similar, or lower leakages than disposable pads and tampons.

No external injuries on Nigerian who died in custody

Hospital officials say no physical injuries were found on the body of a Nigerian student, who died while in custody at the Bukit Jalil Immigration Depot lock-up last week.

It adds that this was confirmed by its forensic experts, who conducted a post-mortem on the body.

Last week, the Immigration Department said the 33-year-old was suspected to have suffered a seizure while sleeping.
 

MYC lauds move to amend Constitution to lower voting age

The Malaysian Youth Council has praised the move to amend the Constitution to lower the voting age to 18. 

It told us that this will allow youths to become one of the main decision makers in the next general election.

This follows yesterday's historic vote in the Dewan Rakyat, in which MPs from both sides of the political divide unanimously approved a constitutional amendment to lower the voting age.
