Only 4 percent of students in Malaysia are willing to open up to their teachers when they face problems.

UMS Associate Psychology Professor Dr Balan Rathakrishnan told us that makes it hard for teachers to detect when something's wrong with their students. 

He was commenting on the recent tragedy in Penang, where a teenager took his own life allegedly over homework stress.

PTPTN to come up with new measures to hunt down loan defaulters

PTPTN will use different tactics to pursue repayments from fresh graduates and hardcore loan defaulters. 

The Education Minister says it's hard to believe that a person who graduated 20 years ago still can't afford to repay his study loan. 

PTPTN is now in talks with EPF, LHDN and several other government agencies to come up with a plan.

Human negligence cause of Tanjung Bungah landslide

The Tanjung Bungah landslide that killed 11 people in Penang two years ago, has been deemed an easily preventable man-made tragedy. 

The state's Chief Minister said the landslide at the construction site happened partly because several warning signs from nature were ignored.
