Expect a short reprieve from unhealthy air early next week

Malaysians can expect a short reprieve from unhealthy air early next week due to changing winds!

Weather officials say the air quality will improve for Peninsular Malaysia by Sunday or Monday.

Also, the HR Ministry is urging employers to allow their staff to work from home becuse of the worsening haze situation.

It says such a flexible working policy will help make sure that employees' health is not adversely affected by the prolonged haze season.

At last look, 6 areas in Sarawak posted ‘very unhealthy’ API readings of over 200.

Another 36 areas across the country had unhealthy air quality.

Number of registered stem cell donors is very low

The Health Ministry says the number of registered stem cell donors in Malaysia is very low.

After nearly 2 decades, the Msian Stem Cell Registry only has smoe 28 thousand donors currently. 

The Ministry says this is disappointing, as stem cell therapy can help treat diseases including leukemia.

A man in his 20s has been arrested at Miri Airport in Sarawak, after he allegedly told check-in counter staff that he was carrying a bomb. 

Police confirmed that the so-called bomb was actually a power bank.
