DNA data on birth certs will take time

We'll probably have to wait a while, before the government implements the move to have DNA data on birth certificates.
The National Registration Department says it's still looking into the best way to implement it.
It adds that a thorough study is needed, as it involves many other agencies, not to mention the legal and policy aspects.
The proposal to include DNA data on birth certs was recently brought up by the Home Ministry, as a way to prevent forgeries.

Anwar wants ECRL project reviewed after 1MDB case developments
Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim wants the East Coast Rail Link project reviewed further, following recent developments in the 1MDB case.
The PKR President says this is because a sworn statement by a witness in the trial claimed, that the ECRL project was used to bail out 1MDB.
Anwar says the new development leaves the government room to conduct further negotiaitons on the cost of the project.

You could soon be accountable for causing pollution overseas
The Environment Ministry is currently drawing up a new law, to hold Malaysian individuals and companies accountable if they cause pollution overseas.
This will apply to all types of pollution, not just haze.
The Ministry has also contacted the Attorney-General's Chambers about the urgency of the matter, so that the new law can be approved by the Cabinet as quickly as possible.
It comes amid allegations that several Malaysian corporations are responsible for forest fires in Indonesia, which has led to the transboundary haze.
