Haze: Students can return to Indonesia after situation improves

The Education Minister says the Malaysian students, who were evacuated due to the haze in Riau and Jambi in Indonesia, will continue to stay here, until the conditions in there returns to normal.
The first batch arrived at KLIA 2 this afternoon, while the rest are scheduled to reach here this evening.
They were evacuated after a state of emergency was declared in Riau, when the API there breached the hazardous level of 500.
Banks Association says 50 sen fee will encourage online banking

The Associatin of Banks in Malaysia has defended the 50 sen fee for transactions using the cash and checque deposit machines, which will come into force next month.
The Consumers Association of Penang had recently criticised the new fee, as well as the impending RM2 charge for over-the-counter services.
The banking association says the fees are meant to encourage customers to use online transactions instead, and assured that the charge will not be imposed on customers aged above 65 years as well as on the disabled.
Climate activist Greta Thunberg wins ‘Alternative Nobel’

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has won the Right Livelihood Award, also known as the “Alternative Nobel.”
Thunberg is being recognized for inspiring and amplifying political demands for action on climate change.
Earlier this week, Thunberg scolded world leades at the UN Climate Action Summit for failing to act on climate change.
