Tg Piai by-election: Come out early to vote!

The Election Commission is urging voters to come out to vote earlier as weather officials are predicting a thunderstorm.

It also reminded all candidates and supporters that active campaigning cannot take place within 50m of a polling centre.

Meanwhile, 25% out of the 52 thousand registered voters have cast their ballots as of 10am.

The EC is targeting 70%  voter turnout in the by-election and the results are expected to be announced by about 10pm.

Avoid non-essential travel to Hong Kong

Malaysians have been advised to defer non-essential travel to areas affected by demonstrations in Hong Kong.

Wisma Putra also advised Malaysians there to register with the Consulate General of Malaysia there via email.

Meanwhile, the Education Ministry says it will evacuate about 400 Malaysian students in the Republic, if the situation there threatens their safety.

Teenage gunman in California school shooting dies

The teen, who opened fire at his school on his 16th birthday, killing two students and injuring 3 others has died from his injuries.

Authorities say they are still trying to determine the motive of the attack adding that the gunman didn't leave behind a diary or a manifesto, and he has not been linked to any violent ideology or group.
