Klang Valley water cut is finally over
Dec 24, 2019
The water crisis in the Klang Valley is over.
The National Water Services Commission, SPAN said all areas will resume water flow within 72 hours.
Chairman Charles Santiago adds that investigations have found about 50 cubic metres of illegal waste had polluted the water system, consisting engine oil and oil waste from restaurants.
Because of this, SPAN wants all local councils across Selangor to monitor restaurants, eateries and mechanics to ensure they dispose of their waste properly.
1.5 million people across 4 areas in the Klang Valley have been suffering from dry taps for the past 3 days because of the latest pollution.
Water woes in Kedah as well
Over in Kedah, the MB is worried after water levels in the state's dams dropped to 60 percent due to the release of water for agricultural needs.
Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir warned that more water will have to be released if there is no rain soon, as Kedah battles a dry spell.
