12-year-old dies from influenza flu

The influenza outbreak in the country has taken a tragic turn, as 12-year-old Faiz Fauzan died yesterday in Subang Jaya.
His mother says she initially thought Faiz had developed a normal fever, but he was sent to hospital after experiencing seizures.
Meanwhile in Terengganu, two clusters of influenza-like illnesses have been reported.
Nine people are ill, with eight of them testing positive for influenza A and B, and all have since been given the Tamiflu treatment.
Over in Penang, over a hundred students from 50 schools are infected with influenza, but all schools are operating as per normal.
In Selangor, about 230 students from almost 100 schools are reported to have contracted influenza so far, but there are no school closures.
Malaysia sends 40 firefighters to assist Australia

40 firefigthers from the Fire and Rescue Department will be sent to assist in the bushfire crisis happening in Australia.
The Housing and Local Government Minister says that an additional 20 members from another government agency will also be assisting.
Australia is facing its worst bushfires since September last year, with more than 100 fires burning in New South Wales alone.
Syed Saddiq suspends Youth and Sports Ministry officer

A Youth and Sports Ministry officer who was arrested in a raid in Puchong will be suspended, pending police investigation.
Youth and Sports Minister, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, says he was informed of the arrest and he will leave it to the authorities to take action.
