About 130 Malaysians will be brought home today from the coronavirus epicentre in Wuhan, China following the outbreak there.

Meanwhile, China’s Hubei province reported 56 new deaths from the outbreak, bringing the total to 350.

At least another 170 cases have also been reported in more than two dozen other countries and regions, including the US, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong and Britain.

The Health Ministry says the public should not start panicking by wearing masks as there is no case of human to human transmission of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

It adds that it has no plans on making it compulsory to wear face masks at public places as this would cause public panic.

Meanwhile, the Youth and Sports Ministry says it will work with the Health Ministry to ensure that all sporting events in the country meet with public health guidelines due to the coronavirus scare.
