Msia's COVID-19 Cases Now at 533

125 new covid-cases have been reported, raising the total number of cases to 553

The Health Ministry says of the new cases, 95 are linked to the recent religious gathering in Sri Petaling.

Earlier, the leaders of the gathering called on all attendees to get themselves screened for the coronavirus. 

There is NO need to panic buy

Malaysians should remain calm, and NOT resort to panic-buying of essential food items, amid the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin says the govt will ensure that there are enough supplies at all times.. 

He says, "We will ensure that food will be available, so don't rush. Buy what's necessary. Stock what's necessary like you normally do. We will ensure that food will be available at all time." 

This, amid reports of panic-buying in several locations.

Sarawak schools advised to extend holiday period

Sarawak is advising all schools in the state to extend their school holidays for a week, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Meanwhile, kindergartens, childcare centres and tahfiz schools in the state have been ordered to close for two weeks, starting tomorrow. 

It also ordered the closure of all public sports facilities including pools, stadiums and gymnasiums.
