Msia's COVID-19 cases now at 900

Malaysia's total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has now risen to 900.

This after the Health Minister says 110 new cases have been detected, 63 of which are linked to a religious gathering in Sri Petaling, KL.

Selangor has the highest number of cases with 223, followed by KL and Sabah. 

The minister adds that 20 patients are currently in the ICU, and require breathing assistance.

Meanwhile, 15 people have dicharged from hospital, bringing the tally of recovered patients to 75. 

Only 60% of Msians complying to MCO

The government may use military services to ensure that Malaysians comply with the Movement Control Order. 

This as Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says only 60 percent of Malaysians are following order guidelines. 

He adds that if the compliance rate remains low, stricter action will be imposed.

Meanwhile, the minister says on the first day of the control order, over 500 roadblocks were conducted, while more than six thousand vehicles were checked. 

Msian workers could still work in Singapore 

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail says Malaysia is currently in talks with Singapore to allow some 300,000 Malaysians to continue to work there, during the Movement Control Order. 

He adds that the matter will only procceed on the condition that Singapore will provide living accommodations for the workers.
