Malaysia reports 53 total COVID-19 deaths

Three more deaths have been reported due to COVID-19, raising our tally to 53.
Meanwhile Malaysia’s total number of infections has risen to 3,333, after 217 new cases were detected today.
While the figure is higher compared to previous days, Health Director General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says it’s not a cause for concern.
He says,” This is because of our enhanced MCO. Once we're doing the enhanced MCO, we are screening the whole community. It's expected because of our active case detection.”
108 patients are currently in ICU, with 54 needing breathing assistance.
MW 60 more patients have been discharged from hospital, meaning 827 people have fully recovered.
Government to support Msian students overseas
The government has agreed to help bear the cost of accommodation and food for Malaysian students abroad.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this is targeted to students who have finished their studies but are unable to return due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He adds that the aid will be channelled via their respective sponsors.
The government advises students abroad to stay where they are for now, due to strict travel restrictions imposed in some countries.
Meanwhile, those who are able to return home will undergo 14 days of mandatory quarantine.
Malaysia reports 4 more COVID-19 orange zones
Four more areas have been marked as COVID-19 orange zones, raising the total to 20.
This includes Selangor’s Sepang and Kuala Selangor districts; Alor Gajah, Melaka, and Kota Samarahan in Sarawak.
The Health Ministry adds that Hulu Langat, Selangor is the top COVID-19 red zone for a fourth consecutive day.
Other coronavirus hotspots include areas in KL, Sarawak, and Negeri Sembilan.
