MCO violators to be fined RM1,000

Starting today, people caught defying the movement control order will be given a RM1,000 compound.

Bukit Aman police say the compounds will not be issued at roadblocks, instead violators will be taken to the nearest police station or district police HQ, and it will be issued there.

Violators will be given two weeks to pay up. 

Malaysia reports 65 total COVID-19 deaths

Malaysia has reported a total of 65 COVID-19 deaths, after two more patients succumbed to the virus.

Health Director General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also says 156 new cases were detected today, raising our tally to 4,119.

While 166 patients were discharged from hospital today.

Dr Noor Hisham says this means the number of people who were discharged outnumbered new cases...

Meanwhile, a new coronavirus sub-cluster has emerged in Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, with 27 COVID-19 infection cases.

It’s believed that it came from a school meeting that was attended by someone linked to the Sri Petaling cluster.

COVID-19 redzones now in 23 districts

Two more areas have been designated as COVID-19 red zones, raising the total to 23.

These are Selangor’s Sepang district and Kota Samarahan in Sarawak.

The Health ministry says Lembah Pantai, KL is the country’s top red zone, with the

highest number of cases, followed by Selangor’s Hulu Langat, and Petaling districts.

Meanwhile, 29 areas nationwide are still free of the coronavirus.
