More recovered patients today than new COVID-19 cases

There are more recovered patients today, compared to the number of new COVID-19 cases. 

84 patients have been released from hospital, while Malaysia reported only 57 new infections. 

This brings our tally of infection cases to 6,002, with 1,700 or so categorised as active cases. 

Meanwhile, two more patients have succumbed to COVID-19, raising our death toll to 102. 

3,000 university students set to return to hometowns in south and east zones

More than 3,000 university students will be heading back to their hometowns today. 

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says this will involve intra-zone travelling within the country’s south and east zones.

He adds that some 280 students will also be making their way to Sarawak.

Perlis, Kedah and Kelantan are COVID-19 free

Malaysia now has three entire states marked as COVID-19 green zones, with no active cases.

They are Perlis, Kedah and Kelantan.

Meanwhile, the number of active red zones remains at 12, with KL being the top hot spot with almost 480 active infections.
