Malaysia reaches another record number of COVID-19 cases

15 more patients have died due to COVID-19, raising the death toll to 578.
Meanwhile, Malaysia has reported another record high of daily infections, with 3,337 new cases today.
Selangor continues to record the highest number with 1,036 infections, followed by 460 in Johor, and 389 in Sabah.

EMCO in several Johor areas lifted
The Enhanced Movement Control Order enforced in several areas in Johor have been lifted today.
The Defence Minister says they include the Kluang Prison, as well as Dewan Arena Segitiga in Mukim Kota Tinggi.
Meanwhile, the EMCO involving two workers' dorms in the state will be extended for two more weeks starting this Saturday.

Finance Minister to improve Budget 2021 initiatives
The government is currently in talks to finetune Budget 2021 following the re-enforcement of the Movement Control Order, and proclamation of a state of emergency.
The Finance Ministry says it is in the process of improving several initiatives.
Its Minister adds that the government has encouraged the private sector to provide financial aid, especially to those affected by the nation's flood situation.
