SPM and STPM candidates to get COVID-19 vaccine

Students who will be sitting for major school examinations will soon be given the COVID-19 vaccine.

Minister-in-charge of the National Immunisation Program Khairy Jamaluddin says 2021 SPM and STPM candidates will receive their first shot of the Pfizer vaccine from next month.

He adds that the immunization drive will be carried out at their schools.

New record of daily COVID-19 vaccinations

Almost 4 million people have already received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over 1.5 half million others are now fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

More than 220,000 people were given the jab yesterday, which is a new record of daily vaccinations.

It's also the third consecutive day that daily vaccinations passed the 200,000 mark.

New COVID-19 cases return to 6k mark

Malaysia reported a surge in new COVID-19 infections, with 6,440 cases today.

2,095 infections were detected in Selangor alone, while Negeri Sembilan and KL had over 800 cases each.

Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 4,276 after 74 patients succumbed to the virus.
