Don't compare our vaccine roll out with high income nations
Jun 21, 2021
Malaysians should not compare the country's COVID-19 vaccination rate to those in high income nations.
The Minister-in-charge of the National Immunisation Program says authorities are doing their best to ramp up the vaccination.
However, Khairy Jamaluddin says it's being hampered because high income countries are hoarding supplies.
He was responding to claims over the purported slow roll out of the government's immunization plan.
Currently, almost 6 million doses have been administered nationwide, with nearly 13% of the population already given their first dose.

UMNO has given the government 14 days to reconvene Parliament, following the Yang di Pertuan Agong's recent views regarding the Emergency Ordinance.
Party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says similar to views expressed by the King, Umno views that Parliament is important to raise the issues and hopes of the public amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He adds that the UMNO Supreme Council will meet to further discuss the matter soon.
