New COVID-19 cases remain below 5k for two straight days

Malaysia’s number of new COVID-19 cases fell below the 5,000 mark for a second consecutive day.
4,743 cases were detected today, with Selangor having the most infections at 1,566.
This is followed by KL, Negeri Sembilan, and Sarawak.
Meanwhile, 77 more patients succumbed to the virus, raising the death toll to 4,554.

COVID-19 volunteers to receive double their daily allowance
Individuals volunteering in the country’s efforts to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic will receive double their daily allowance starting this month.
PM Tan Sri Muhyddin Yassin expects some 19,000 volunteers will be given a daily allowance of RM100.
He says the raise will be given to those working more than 12 hours a day.

New record of daily COVID-19 vaccinations
Malaysia has reached a new record of daily COVID-19 vaccinations.
More than 235,000 people were given the jab yesterday, with most of the doses given to first time recipients.
Overall, over 6 million doses have been administered under the National Immunisation Program.
