Malaysia shortens AstraZeneca dosing interval

Malaysia will shorten the dosing interval for the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine from 12 to 9 weeks.
Those who participated in the first round of the AstraZeneca opt-in programme will be notified of the second appointment soon.
The Enhanced MCO will be enforced in 34 sub-districts in Selangor and 14 localities in KL for 14 days, starting tomorrow.
Senior Minister for Security Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says all roads in those areas will be closed and guarded by the police.
Only one household representative will be allowed to go out to buy basic necessities within a radius of 10km.
A curfew is also set at 8pm.
The Health Ministry reported a spike in Covid-19 cases, with 6,988 infections yesterday.
Selangor recorded the bulk of the cases at over 2,800, ahead of KL.
It’s the third consecutive day that new cases passed the 6,000 mark.
